    Malabar Java

    £2.75

A rich black tea from the volcanic soils of the Malabar Tea Estate in Java, Indonesia. This historic tea estate was founded in the the 19th Century and was managed by Dutchman Karel Albert Rudolf Bosscha from 1896 to 1928, who was committed to the development of the region. Indonesia may be famed for its coffee production, but tea has been grown there since 1684, and flourished when tea bushes were brought over from Assam in the 19th Century. Picked from Assamica bushes, these leaves release a superb depth of flavour, with cocoa notes complimenting sweet dark berries. Strong enough to add milk, but we recommend trying without first!
