Bannockburn 1st Flush 2023 Darjeeling Organic
This year we are delighted to once again have First Flush tea from the Bannockburn tea garden. This tea is from DJ03/23, which is the third batch/invoice of First Flush produced by the garden this year, and often considered to be the best! A flush can be best thought of as a tea season, with first flushes being the first season of the year picked in early Spring. With a distinctive Darjeeling muscatel note and a vibrant aroma that takes you straight to the tea factories of Darjeeling. This year's tea is similar to last year’s, with lovely fruity notes and a hint of florals on the aroma than last year. The finish is brisk, lively and astringent as is typical of first flush teas from the area. As always it is worth having a play with the brewing parameters, both time and temperature, depending on how you like to drink your 1st Flush. Bannockburn is one of the historic gardens in Darjeeling, having been planted in the 1850s by Scottish tea pioneers, and now operates as an Organic garden.
