Bannockburn 1st Flush 2022 Darjeeling Organic

This year we are delighted to once again have First Flush tea from the Bannockburn tea garden. This tea is from DJ03/22, which is the third batch/invoice of First Flush produced by the garden this year, and often considered to be the best! A flush can be best thought of as a tea season, with first flushes being the first season of the year picked in early Spring. With a distinctive Darjeeling muscatel note and a vibrant aroma that takes you straight to the tea factories of Darjeeling. This year's tea is a little fruitier than last year so it is worth having a play with the brewing parameters, maybe a longer brew depending on how you like to drink your 1st Flush. The finish is brisk, greenish and astringent as is typical of first flush teas from the area. Bannockburn is one of the historic gardens in Darjeeling, having been planted in the 1850s by Scottish tea pioneers, and now operates as an Organic garden.
