A premium Organic Sencha, a steamed green tea from Japan. Sencha is the most popular tea in Japan, and this first flush is picked early in the spring when the leaves are young, resulting in a tea that is full of layers of buttered spinach, umami, subtle marine notes and a balanced astringency. The distinctive needle-shaped leaves are dark green and glossy, and the liquor will be a little cloudy, but this is normal for steamed green teas, and it should settle within a few minutes.

Caffeine || Yes

Tasting Notes || Layers of buttered spinach, umami, subtle marine notes and a balanced astringency.

Brewing Notes || 1 full tsp per cup and brew at 75°C for 2 minutes.

Full flavoured green tea

Sencha is a green tea with lots of flavour but none of the astringency you get from some green teas. You may not fully appreciate the first sip, but stick with it and it just gets better and better, mellow but packed with flavour.
