A must for tea drinkers

I cannot tell you how much I enjoy receiving my surprise teas each month.

Customer service is excellent: having the gene that makes bergamot taste like soap, I was concerned about receiving loads of Earl Grey type blends. When I contacted Team Tea to see how frequently they sent out teas that included bergamot, they offered, instead, not to send me any! I even got a note, when orange blossom oolong was sent out (gorgeous with lemon drizzle cake or almond cake or baklava), to check it wasn't too similar to Earl Grey!

Each month, three quite different teas or infusions are provided. In 5 months, I have passed four tins on to a friend who loves herby tea, so that's another benefit of Tea Club!

There are multiple cupfuls from each tiny tin, which really surprised - and delighted - me.

However, there are several major problems with Tea Club:
(1) where to store my delicious teas (including those I bought more of),
(2) which tea to drink next,
(3) how long it takes me to offer anyone a cuppa!

I can become a bit irritable when prompted to complete reviews for elastic bands or combs but for Team Tea, Tea Club, or tea? Never! I think I have reviewed every tea I've received.

Super subscription

This tea subscription is top-notch! The little tins contain a surprising amount of leaf. My first selection was of excellent quality, including a first flush darjeeling.

Tea Club - very long review!

I joined Tea Club then worried that I would be sent Earl Grey, which I find very soapy. I emailed Team Tea and a note was added to my subscription which was already good customer service because some vendors would not do so because, of course, it must be a pain.

Then, when orange blossom oolong was in the monthly pack, there was a note included telling me to get in touch if it was too much like Earl Grey. On the contrary, it was actually a very light and refreshing. I really enjoyed the Jasmine Dragon Pearls too, the flavours were particularly nicely balanced.

Some of the blends, those containing a lot of different flowers, herbs, spices, etc have not been as much to my taste. but I have enjoyed giving them a go and I have a friend who is very pleased when I pass them on so it's all good.

This Tea Club subscription is quite likely the best gift I have ever given myself!

So much so that, this morning, I got all the tins out and compared their appearances, smells and textures. This inspired me to open some teabags to compare and they were just dust, even the slightly swankier brands that only sell direct. The only exception was the organic rooibos teabags that I take out and about with me in case I go somewhere that serves any tea that contains bergamot or, worse, only coffee because I have found that people don't mind you rejecting their offer of refreshments so long as it is for something completely different.

Today, I received a tin of GABA Oolong which I had ordered using my Tea Club discount (another excellent example of customer service) and got very excited because this was the first tea where the tasting notes fully matched my experience. Being hyposensitive to flavour (thanks to autism), I am very rarely able identify the flavours or aromas listed on any food or drink products but the dry leaves smelt strongly of chestnuts and the tea itself actually tastes like dark chocolate. It was very confusing for my mouth!

All of which is to say - thank you Team Tea so much for setting up Tea Club. You might be turning me into a tea snob but I'm a happy tea snob!
