Georgian Old Lady
Sorry, currently out of stock
A superb hand-made black tea from Georgia. Tea has been grown in the foothills of the Caucasus Mountains, Western Georgia since 1890. Once the main tea supplier to Russia, the industry was hit hard after independence, but thankfully for tealovers it is being revived. Hand-made black teas are very rare as rolling the leaves to develop the flavour is gruelling work. Natela, the Georgian Old Lady this tea is named after, has been making tea all her life, and this tea is a testament to her expertise. The leaves are dark, large and twisted, yet the taste is surprisingly mellow; velvety smooth with a hint of sweetness and chocolate notes in the aroma. A memorable tea that will undoubtedly become a new favourite.
